Reflecting on the journey captured so eloquently by VoyageLA Magazine fills me with immense gratitude. From the serendipitous moments on the campus of Connecticut College that led me to rowing, to the legal battles fought for the rights of athletes and the pursuit of social justice, each chapter of my story has been driven by the conviction that one can indeed be the change they wish to see in the world.
A heartfelt thank you to Sid Reddy, Grayce McCormick, and the entire editorial team at @VoyageLA for featuring my story and allowing me to share the milestones, the challenges, and the triumphs. This piece is not just a reflection of my journey but a tribute to the indomitable spirit of every individual who has been part of it – my family, mentors, friends, and the Benevolent Syndicate who stood by me in the darkest of times. As I continue my work within the Olympic Movement and beyond, I am reminded that our actions, no matter how small, can ripple through generations. Let's all continue to be catalysts for positive change, in honor of those who paved the way and for the sake of those who will follow. To read the full interview, head over to @VoyageLA. And remember, in the words of my great grandmother, you can be anything you want to be.
